Mbee is a station in the South Eastern areas of Kenya and we brought in a small amount of this new area to test the waters here. This initial year of buying here was obviously disrupted due to Covid and not being able to travel, but we've been impressed with the potential and love the more full and sweet profile on this initial lot from Eastern Kenya!
This Kenyan is less floral and fruity than some of the coffees we've grown to love from more traditional regions like Nyeri, Murang'a, and Kirinyaga. We get winey-ness and nice structure with strong chocolate notes in the cup.
