La Palma y El Tucan is widely recognized as one of the best coffee farms in the world! High in the cloud forests of Cundinamarca, Colombia this farms' coffees are often the majority of the coffees being used by competitors in the US and International barista competitions. We brought in two 91+ point (think 99-100 point wines) Geishas from La Palma this year for you to try!
The natural process coffee is a vibrant, deeply sweet cup with tons of berry and tropical notes. Our tasting notes on this coffee are "Gooseberry Jam, Passionfruit, and Yellow Mango." In short it's very intense with that tropical starburst type flavor.
The Bio-Innovation process is a unique process to La Palma. They collect micro-organisms from the soil throughout the farm by attracting them to cooked rice. This rice is put into a clay pot with the coffee cherries and the entire pot is buried in a cool area of the farm. This kickstarts a very unique fermentation process. The flavor profile on this coffee is very sweet and very tart, but super juicy as well. Our flavor notes are "Strawberry Rhubarb and Blood Orange."
