Sensory Description:
When well dialed, Odo Shakiso is tropical and delicate with notes of candied orange, clover honey, bergamot, black tea, and tropical fruits. The aftertaste is long and pleasant with a range of floral notes like honeysuckle and lavender. The texture is creamy, similar to custard, with a light, tea-like body. The sweetness is dense and coating, similar to wildflower honey.
Dial Notes:
Over-extracted brews of Odo Shakiso were flat and dull on the pallet with muted fruit notes. The ripe tropical fruit notes became similar to stale, dried tropical fruit and sensory experience was similar to that of oversteeped black tea. If you are noticing bitter astringency and muted fruit notes, adjust your grind size coarser.
Under-extracted brews are lacking in sweetness, resulting in a thin and sour brew, similar to underripe citrus. In under-extracted brews of Odo Shakiso, I found prominent notes of underripe lemon and pineapple. If you are noticing sharp, sour notes adjust your grind size finer.
