Sensory Description:

Sadayana Kongsi Washed is an excellent expression of the terroir of Indonesia through it’s crisp, clean washed profile. This coffee is predominantly rich and chocolate forward with clean notes of milk chocolate, almond butter, vanilla, baking spice, and orange. The texture is round and the body is medium-heavy with a weight similar to 2% milk. The aftertaste is long and pleasant, leaving a clean, mouthwatering note of orange on the palate for a long time after taking a sip.

Dial Notes:

Sadayana Kongsi Washed is a very easy coffee to dial and tastes good at a range of grind sizes, meaning it is forgiving on both espresso and pour over. A well dialed cup strikes a balance between rich chocolate and juicy citrus.

Under-extracted brews of Sadayana Kongsi Washed tasted balanced while hot, however, upon cooling, lost their texture and were thin. The under-extracted brew tasted like low-quality milk chocolate and underripe orange, lacking in sweetness and texture.

Over-extracted brews of Sadayana Kongsi Washed were still generally pleasant, however they lost the bright orange note found in well balanced brews. The over-extracted brew tasted flat and dull, with strong notes of bitter dark chocolate that dried the palate.
