Rigoberto Herrera doesn't just grow coffee, he chases it to wherever it's growing best. When his farm in Boquete, Panama won Best Coffee of Panama in 2008, he didn't stop there. He carried Gesha seeds back to Colombia himself, becoming one of the first producers to establish the variety on Colombian soil, at a time when almost no one else was willing to try.
That same spirit lives on at Las Margaritas, the family's incubator for their rarest and highest end lots. This Gesha is processed naturally, slowly and carefully, coaxing out a flavor profile that's complex and sweet. It's grown with the same restless ambition that first brought the variety to Colombia, and after tasting it, we think it rivals anything coming out of Panama today.
